As the flagship project for the NBF this year, the African Leadership Development Program (in partnership with the Wits Business School) is designed to create and educatate a new generation of young African leaders, who will impact their respective sectors and countries with the necessary leadership and business skills that will enhance good governance principles.

Announced at the World Economic Forum in May, the program involves academic teaching and practical field work which is incorporated into a comprehensive 6 week program. The program focuses specifically on the public and private sectors as well as civil society, seeking to challenge conventional leadership models and create strategic thinkers within a global framework, yet always contextualized by the Pan-African vision and reality.

With a small intake for individual attention, and the opportunity to participate in an international study tour, incorporating interaction with multilateral institutions such as the AU, the IMF and the World Bank; the leadership program is expected to provide a life-changing experience for the young leaders attending the course. The program commences in early March 2007 with the first intake of students.
