The NBF has officially appointed Lynette Chen as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation. Seconded by Hewlett-Packard, Lynette has been heading up the Government & Public Affairs division for HP South Africa over the past 3 years.
For the past few years, the NBF has been expertly led by Dr Reuel Khoza. During his period as Chairman, Dr Khoza and the Board have taken the foundation from a concept to a viable and successful Business Foundation.
As one of the key business leaders involved since the inception of the NBF, Lynette Chen is expertly positioned to take over the reigns and lead the NBF onto further successes and levels of growth.
As the sector head for the ICT sector within the NBF, Lynette has experienced first hand the challenges and opportunities accompanying the work of the NBF and passionately supports the vision of the foundation.
A few key areas Lynette will be focusing on during her tenure include:
- Overseeing the NBF African Leadership Development Program
- Securing new members for the NBF and enhancing the current value add offered
- Actively engaging with government to facilitate trade missions (for members) into Africa
- Promoting cross sectoral communication and participation hence ensuring maximum efficiency and effectivity.
- Establishing key partnerships with various organizations such as the NEPAD Secretariat, other regional NEPAD Business Groups, government, business chambers and other South African business organisations
