We are pleased to have profiled the NEPAD Business Foundation with great success at the recent World Economic Forum in Cape Town in June. This Forum furthermore, provided us with the platform to launch the first annual edition of the NEPAD Business Foundation Business Guide, which aims to create interest in, discuss and expose business and investment opportunities in Africa. It offers authoritative and comprehensive information on a diverse range of industries and topics pertinent to the current growth and changing face of business in Africa – with emphasis on enhancing financial management discipline and good corporate governance

The Guide is a powerful and invaluable resource for any organisation doing business in the African continent. It provides the necessary facilitation and guidance on how best to engage with key African stakeholders. Please contact the NBF office to obtain a free copy of the Guide.

June has proven to be an extremely busy month with NBF deliverables and coupled to the success of the NBF Business Guide was the start of the African Leadership Programme (ALP), the flagship project of the NBF. Through the ALP, we intend on mentoring and grooming the next generation of leaders in Africa, for Africa. This aligns with the NBF’s mission of delivering sustainable projects for the benefit of Africa’s people and the prosperity of the African continent. The delegates for this programme come from NGO’s as well as the private and public sectors in Africa.

In addition to the above the NBF was invited by the NEPAD Steering Committee to present at the 31st Meeting of this Committee in Mombasa, Kenya on the 22nd and 23rd June. The Committee comprises members appointed to this Committee by African Heads of State to provide strategic direction and leadership for NEPAD. Both myself and Dr Reuel Khoza presented at this forum, where I presented on the Woman Entrepreneurship Programme, a partner programme with Enablis and Dr Khoza provided an overview of the NBF, the African leadership Programme, our achievements to date as well as encouraged more Pan-African participation in the Foundation.

We constantly strive to champion the private sector participation in achieving the NEPAD goals and believe through the above deliverables, we are starting to make an impact with our common goal being the growth and sustainability of the African continent.
