Eight new NBF Sector Heads have been appointed in the areas of Mining (Jabu Maphalala from Chamber of Mines), Energy (Leo Dlamini from Eskom and Dion Govender from Siemens), Transport (Stanley Mkoko from Transnet), SMME (Paul la Montagne from Enablis) and Legal (Pieter Steyn from Werksmans Attorneys and Chair of Lex Africa). Old Mutual has become the new Founding Sponsor of the NBF and has agreed to lead the Investments and Finance Sector, which includes the establishment of the NBF Investment Fund. The Media, Entertainment and Communications Sector which is to be led by Sharon Penhallrick of Telmar is also in the process of being established.

The Infrastructure Sector Chair is Hylton MacDonald from Aveng Group, supported by Roelof van Tonder from the SA Association of Consulting Engineers. The transition period required to ensure each of the new sectors and sector heads will be fully operational is expected to end by March 2008.
