The African Leadership Development Programme is an intensive development programme that aims to strengthen leadership skills in the continent and build greater institutional capacity.

The first intake of emerging leaders have found the course to be riveting and well worth considering for any future leader. The African Leadership Programme has furthermore received much exposure in the media with television interviews on SABC Africa, SABC Morning Live and CNBC Africa.

In one of the classroom lectures on leadership and what it means to be an African, the quotation below from a student currently on the course, encapsulates the enthusiastic energy emanating from this Leadership Programme:

"I'm a proud African who lives in a rich and diverse country. To be an African means having a global view in ensuring the economic emancipation of all Africans. And this can be achieved through developing a sense of pride, self respect in the way we conduct ourselves in developing and producing quality products and services on the continent. This will ensure we change the world / first world perceptions that Africa is inferior."

Applications for the 2008 intake have officially opened and the course will commence on the 02 March -11 September 2008. The course spans over 7 months with 6 weeks of lecture time in block release modules. The closing date to submit all 2008 applications is Thursday 17 January 2008.
