ASTUTE BANKER APPOINTED TO NEPAD BUSINESS FOUNDATION BOARD

Following the honourable accolade as one of the 245 exceptional Young Global Leaders (YGLs) of 2008, Mark Williams, the Chief Executive of Teba Bank, has been appointed as a Director to the Board of the NEPAD Business Foundation (NBF).

The YGLs accolade is one whereby the World Economic Forum (WEF) selects leading executives, public figures and intellectuals under the age of 40 who are recognised for their professional accomplishments, commitment to society and potential to contribute to shaping the future of the world.

Williams has furthermore, been recognised as a leader by the NEPAD Business Foundation (NBF). The NBF board of Directors chaired by Dr Reuel J. Khoza, consists of high level South African business people who all have a passion and commitment to the development of Africa.  The NBF is confident that this new addition to the board is beneficial to the organisation, and its members. Lynette Chen, CEO, commented “Mark’s appointment will bring a diverse range of skills and valuable experience, due to his previous tenure as the head of the African division of another banking group.  We welcome his appointment and embrace his enthusiastic approach to the development of the foundation as well as forging new business partnerships, key to delivering projects across the continent.”

His appointment as Director at the NBF is with immediate effect and he is well versed on all aspects of the Foundation, having served on the Operations Committee for the past two years.
